The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB)
The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB) is an autonomous professional body of banks and financial institutions in Bangladesh. Country's banks and financial institutions are members of this organization. The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh is located at Bir Protik Gazi Golam Dostogir Road, Purana Paltan, Dhaka. IBB is run, under supervision of Bangladesh Bank, by a council headed by President who is the governor of Bangladesh Bank. Its overall management is monitored by a General Secretary. At present, The Institute of Bankers Bangladesh's Secretary General is Laila Bilkis Ara, and Secretary is Shaikh Jahangir Hossain. The Institute was founded in 1972. IBB was registered (Registration No. 3894145/3 of 1972-1973) on February 06, 1973 as an Association under the Societies Registration Act, 1660 (Act No. XXI of 1660).
Since establishment, IBB has been contributed to create professionally sound human resource for the financial sector of Bangladesh. The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB) conducted professional banking diploma exam (e.g. Junior Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh - JAIBB and Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh - AIBB) widely recognized which held twice a year. For outstanding result in the banking diploma exam, it offers awards and recognition to the candidates. The Institute promotes research activities; publishes journals and newsletters; and organizes dialogues, lectures, seminars and more.
