Certified Shari'ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA)
Certified Shari'ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) offered by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), a Bahrain-based based non-profit organization working for establishment of Shariah standards in Islamic financial institutions. Since 2006, AAOIFI has been offering the CSAA professional qualification which demonstrates Shari'ah compliance and Shari'ah issues in Islamic banks and financial institutions. The CSAA degree enhances Shari'ah knowledge and ensure Shari'ah compliance implemented in Islamic financial sector. Candidates who passed the CSAA exam can use the letters "CSAA" after their name. The CSAA fellowships have opportunities to work as Shari'ah Advisor and Auditor in the Islamic banks and financial institutions.
The CSAA curriculum comprises of the Shari'ah standards from SS 1-48; and Shari'ah governance standards GSIFI 1-4.
Eligibility Criteria for CSAA Registration: minimum pass the undergraduate or equvalent degree or professional qualification.
CSAA exam registration fee: Candidates based in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries have to pay USD 1200.00, and Candidates outside of GCC countries USD 800.00. Exam re-sit fee include USD 200.00
In Bangladesh, candidates who complete registration through the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB) will have to pay CSAA exam registration fee only USD 600.00
Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) examination held in two languages - English and Arabic. This is a 100 Marks exam (100 questions) fully MCQs and True/False Questions based. Exam Hour 180 minutes (3 hours). Exam held in AAOIFI approved exam centre. Candidates have to obtain 70% marks to qualify the CSAA degree.
